We can’t believe this is your last week in Year 5. We have missed you so much and feel so sad that we didn’t get to complete our year together. Times Table Rockstars Tournament
All KS2 classes have been enrolled in the Gloucestershire Rockstars Championship! It is a tournament between lots of schools using TTRS in Gloucestershire. 
The tournament itself will run over 3 days from the 12th - 14th May between 10am - 1pm each day. All of the points scored in those 9 hours will count. There will be leader boards for highest-scoring individuals, highest-scoring classes and highest-scoring schools.
We would love for 5D or 5RK to be the highest scoring classes- please help us!

The uploaded resource booklet is a 3-week long unit of work. There are 5 lessons for you to work through during the week (Pages 1- 18). We have donated to use this unit of work so please do not feel that you need to as well!

This unit of work is to support you in writing an information text.

Lesson 1 – Read the text and answer the questions on page 8.

Lesson 2 – Understanding the vocabulary. There are some tricky words in this text for you to learn and explore. (Pages 9, 10 and 11)

Lesson 3 – Get to know the text better- reading and responding to questions. (Pages 12-14)

Lesson 4 – VGPS- Brackets. We have looked at the use of brackets before. Here is some more practice. (Pages 15-16)

For children in Key Stage 2 there are carefully selected personal best challenges, skills and games. Daily and weekly guidance is provided for the programmes in addition to an option to choose your own themes and activities. There are so many benefits to being active, not only to our physical wellbeing but also to our emotional and mental health, especially in such testing times for all of us. Times Table Rockstars Tournament

 

All KS2 classes have been enrolled in the Gloucestershire Rockstars Championship! It is a tournament between lots of schools using TTRS in Gloucestershire. 
The tournament itself will run over 3 days from the 12th - 14th May between 10am - 1pm each day. All of the points scored in those 9 hours will count. There will be leader boards for highest-scoring individuals, highest-scoring classes and highest-scoring schools.
Use the next 2 weeks to practice each day. We would love to be the highest-scoring school!

CURRICULUM

This year we have studied World War 2. On 20th May 2020 it will be the 75th Anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) so we have put together a set of WW2 themed challenges for you to complete drawing on your learning from earlier in the year and helping to commemorate this important day.

Easter Holidays

Monday 6th April – Friday 17th April 2020

Work will not be set during the Easter period as we feel it is important to give the children a break from learning and enjoy some family time as they usually would over this period. We have, however, put together a selection of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

We wish you a Happy Easter and normal weekly work will be available again, on each year group page, from the week beginning Monday 20th April.
